Founded by Neil Smart in 1987 Smart Soccer is a professional soccer training program that works in partnership with soccer clubs and athletic organizations. For over 30 years Neil has provided professional training for tens of thousands of young soccer players through summer camps and year round training activities. In addition to training and developing young players Neil and his Smart Soccer program have also been instrumental in supporting clubs in coach education programs for volunteer parent coaches.

Neil originally hails from Barrow-in-Furness in Cumbria in the North of England. For more information on Neil’s background check out the photos.

Neil’s late wife Bonnie, who tragically passed away in 2017, was also instrumental in the development of Galleries, Bonnie was an amazing and supportive ‘behind the scenes’ influence on the program.

Smart Soccer Notable Staff Coaches

Since 1987 Smart Soccer has employed hundreds of professional coaches and trainers from both the UK and the USA. I have second-hand sknowl;kadsjflj askdjfl;asd jf;jksadjkfdls.

Below is what might be referred to as the top ten ‘Hall of Fame’ list of the most memorable of all of the Smart Soccer coaches, with a brief personal recollection of the impact they had on the program. Perhaps it’s no coincidence that every coach hails from the halcyon days of Smart Soccer, primarily the late 80’s and the 90’s.
